A Nicely Decorated Boutique Hotel

A well located boutique hotel. The public spaces and rooms a nicely decorated with local themes and objects. The rooms are of a nice size but not spacious. Dinner was quite good. However, the breakfast buffet leaves a lot to be desired featuring pre-prepared pancakes and eggs which are not kept warm. The choice of bread is minimal and the coffee is instant.

Charming old place

Located in the old jewish town center steps away from the central Lyabi Hauz square. Cute small reception leading to a romantic interior court yard made entirely of bricks and tiles, equipped with a few chairs and tables and there is another similar courtyard within the complex. The walls of the court yard as well as the hallways and rooms are richly decorated with intricately painted stucco work. All bedrooms are different from each other. My bedroom has a tiled floor, covered with a beautiful carpet. The layout of my small room 9 is a bit unfortunate, as the queen sized bed is in the middle of the room and presents some navigational challenges. The room has a fridge, TV, closet, and an ok desk but with no convenient power outlets. Wifi is free and was available in my room, but is very slow. The bathroom features the same tiles and is rather cramped with scant shelf space for toiletries. Good shower, great sleep quality. Good breakfast buffet with limited choices, but all sectors are covered. In a nutshell: an endearingly cute place, highly recommended.

A sleeper is a gem

We stayed in this place for three nights from Sept 11 thru 13 2014. When we pulled up in front of this place there was a small sign in an alley adjacent to parking which said Sasha and Son. We were wondering about this, but upon entering the door off the alleyway we were very pleasantly surprised to see a really beautiful internal grouping of buildings which are architecturally stunning. The rooms were marvelous. Wooden beamed ceilings and frescoes adorned the walls on all four sides of the rooms. Parquet floors . Beds were excellent. Can't comment on the prices because we were on a tour, but if you want a quiet, somewhat luxurious place to stay this is it. We ate breakfast and sometimes dinner there and food was fine. Location is excellent, easy walk to downtown Bukhara markets and sights.

A hidden gem

We stayed here for 4 days whilst travelling Uzbekistan. All that you see from the outside is a hanging sign in the narrow alleyway off of the main square. What a surprise when you enter into this beautifully kept and restored Hotel. A great breakfast, good service and spotlessly clean. The rooms were beautiful and each one different. Good shower and the bathroom well equipped. Very spacious and comfortable. In the center of Old Town, close to everything. Highly recommended.

Pleasantly Surprised

Our overnight stay at Sasha and Son was nice. The hotel is perfectly listed at the Old Town section of Bukhara. The staff was very kind and spoke English well. The rooms are traditionally decorated, and appointed with flat screen tv's and refrigerators. The breakfast was included, and was fully of variety. I wish we would have made more time to enjoy it.

Wonderful old world charm

We recently stayed here for a few nights while visiting Bukhara. The rooms are absolutely beautiful and very clean with no smoking, which is wonderful! The beds are some of the best i have slept on in the hotels of Uzbekistan. The proximity to the old city made this hotel especially attractive. The prices are a little higher but you get what you pay for. The staff was very friendly and they had a nice complimentary breakfast. There are some nice restaurants within walking distance as well. The hotel will arrange guides, pickup and drop offs at the train station and the airport and much of the staff speaks english. I would definitely stay here again.

A wonderful taste of Uzbek culture

This small hotel is located in the old park of Bukhara city, near the monuments of old Uzbek architecture. The hotel itself is a bit of architectural history, very old but beautifully restored and modernized. We were here with a tour, so we were able to visit the rooms of our tour mates. Of what we saw, each room was different. Decoration is colorful and vibrant. Our room had hand painted decorations over plaster. The hotel is quiet. Two convenience stores are very near. Nice staff. Breakfast was good, but not great. Beds were very hard. Close to good restaurants. Both rooms and bathrooms tended to be large. There was immediate hot water, but water pressure was nothing to write home about. There was barely enough water pressure to take a shower.

Very nice

Small but very nice. Compares very favorably with large hotels we stayed in in other Uzbek cities. Very good location, friendly and efficient English speaking staff, ready to solve immediately any problems. Pleasant rooms. There is no elevator and lots of stairs so that older or disabled people might have problems.

delightful quiet B&B with all the comforts

Right in old town for walking tour of the sights. Adequate breakfast as in most Uzbek hotels. Rooms very quiet, well managed. You'll never stay in a room with more tile in dazzling colors. bed is excellent. staff very attentive. nonsmoking and pleasant. Dinner was excellent in the restaurant.A very pleasant little courtyard. Great A/C. I'd stay here again

Very pleased with Sasha and Sons

We spent two nights at Sasha and Sons while touring Uzbekistan. The small boutique hotel is charming, clean, and close to local attractions. Our room was spacious and our bathroom was the best we had on our trip. It was large with a corner garden tub/shower, and even had a lighted makeup mirror! The breakfast every morning was wonderful with made to order omelets. The staff there speaks English and the service is good. The WiFi is spotty, but you can usually connect in the courtyard adjoining the rooms. I highly recommend this hotel to the Bukhara traveler.

I have today seen on Television a report on the Silk Road in which Bukhara and especially The hotel Sascha and Mr.Sascha himself appeared made a very good presentation for his Country and City. I wish to congratulate him.
