8th Annual celebration of the Angel Program
Charity event for physically disabled children held by “A Child… A Smile” with the support of OrexCA.com
For more than 10 years, volunteer initiative group “A Child … A Smile”, with the help of sponsors from the local and foreign business community (OrexCA.com is a regular partner of “Angel Program” for the last 3 years), has been organizing the “Pisma Detei” or “Angel Program,” which targets children with special needs.
This year, 130 children from School No. 57 and 52 for children with learning disabilities, Quibray Orphanage, and Umidvorlik society, had written heart touching letters to “Santa” or “Kor Bobo,” expressing their New Year wishes.
“A Child … A Smile” program organizers, contacted the many individuals and companies who had been our faithful and reliable helpers for many years, to provide the delightful presents children had asked for: dolls and prams, cars, skateboards and roller blades, children’s cosmetics and pretty stationeries, electronic gadgets, needed winter clothes and shoes.
In less than a month, all presents collected, children eagerly gathered in the luxurious and gorgeously decorated Intercontinental Crystal Ball Room, for an unforgettable evening. Santa himself, delivered all the presents, and attended the musical program prepared for him and his guests by “Semurg” children’s performing group, and other surprise numbers. The concert program was led by the professional and experienced young presenter, Sasha Lee.
On 05,12,11 all children and guests were warmly welcomed by Hotel Intercontinental Tashkent representative, Mr. John Fernandez, who opened the program by sincerely wishing that “all children will feel truly welcomed here tonight.”
By the end of the evening, there were shining children faces, and enthusiastic words of thanks from all sides.
Another year will close with a renewed hope that the wonderful world of childhood is preserved and in good hands, because the “grown ups” of today, care for the future of all children.
