Very good hotel! When changing money on the black market single room costs only $35.
Other hotels in this level requests from 100 to 250 USD. Clean, tidy, professional staff. Only breakfast is always the same, every day the same, I'm tired. But in Tashkent you can eat for 3 USD. There is a theater Ilchom in the yard which you can visit if you have time and the second floor has a sauna which costs $10 per person. Need to exchange money on the street, $1 gives 2700 sums, and the bank until the 1900 it is. a significant difference!

The room was large, clean and comfortable with all modern features. This hotel was far superior to the Grand Orzu in terms of room quality. The air conditioning was effective, however a pool would have been brilliant in the summer heat! Unfortunately the wifi was only accessible from the lobby..

Завтраки неплохие. Обслуживали немного медленно, но на уровне. В целом, отель приятно удивил...

I stayed at Shodlik Palace in May 2012. I was positively surprised by how nice the hotel was. We got a discount through a local travel agent, and got very good value for money. Breakfast was OK. We had lunch at the hotel the first day. Service was quite slow, but the food was good.
Next time I go to Tashkent, I will probably choose to stay there again.
At night, it could be a bit noisy in the corridor, and the doors are not sound-proof at all.

Spacious and comfortable in Tashkent
We stayed here for three nights before and after a tour. Our double room was very spacious with a desk and chair, table with two easy chairs, fridge and plenty of storage space. It was comfortable, clean and pleasantly decorated. The bathroom was very convenient with a shower over the bath. There was also a little balcony that had no outdoor furniture but was excellent for discreetly drying our laundry.
The location is reasonably convenient. The nearest Metro station is Pakhtakor and that is a great way to get around. Unofficial taxis are also readily available and cost 3000 to 5000 Som to get around the inner city. If the driver does not know the hotel, mention the Panorama cinema or the stadium. The breakfast buffet was quite reasonable, by local standards. There is also a restaurant and bar.

А мне отель понравился. Прежде всего тем, что гостиница "Шодлик Палас" расположена на тихой, тенистой улице. В номерах царит спокойствие и уют. И очень вкусная кухня.

A pleasant stay
We stayed there for a week in a room facing the stadium. The location was really good. You could easily walk around. The staff were really nice and they could speak English and were really helpful if you had any questions about the places you wanted to see. They were so kind to print a page for me at 11 pm for free although the reception was full of new travellers arriving. A good thing about the room was that it was really spacious and comfortable and you could use the internet in your room for free. The shower was really nice and hot. There isn't a minibar in the room. The breakfast was buffet and good but the choices were almost the same everyday. All in all,we were quite satisfied with this hotel.

My favorite hotel in Tashkent
I've stayed here like 10 times so far. Love it!
The staff knows me and I'm always welcomed like by a family.
I've stayed in the other hotels in tashkent, including the intercontinental 5* and dedeman 4*, and so far shodlik is still on my top list.
The rooms are very big (I take the one with king size bed), and clean. Floor to ceiling windows with huuuuuuge balcony. So the room gives you a good morning wake up and I love it!
The breakfast is good for the 3* hotel, omelets and pancakes are my fav.
The service is always very nice, concierge and receptionists are very polite and helpful. Some staff of course is not trained up to European or American standards but don't take it as a personal offense, they just don't know all that and trying accommodate you by the best Uzbek standards and traditions they know.
The room needs renovations of course, but nothing I can't deal with, no dirty stains or something ugly like that.
Its located not as good as intercontinental or dedeman, but if you have a car, that's ok.

It's clean, spacious and safe and they do have down comforters. The shower is nice and hot and the breakfast is great. Service is ok. It's at a good location as well. There is wireless internet in each room. It's a good value for the money, but try to get a room on the upper floors and if you are a non-smoker, make sure you ask for a non-smoking room! The smoking rooms are nasty.
