Pleasant stay in downtown Tashkent

Stayed for 3 nights in May during a Business trip.
It is an old style building, but nicely renovated, comfortable rooms and beds. I was lucky and got a room facing the courtyard, the other side is really noizy. The strange thing in the courtyard: every night at around 3 a.m. they started to clean to ground with pressurized water, so it is difficult to sleep with open window....
Excellent breakfast buffett: nice egg Station outside, Usbekistan (shorpa..yummy) and also Far east style (Kimchi...yummy too) food, surely linked to the Korean owners.
Efficient check in, checkout, perfectly english speaking staff, absolutely nothing to complain.
Central Location across the opera house, so you can walk easily around the Center, which was reconstructed after earthquake of 1966, it appears a bit artificial / soulless.
There are also shopping amentities and some restaurants around, be sure that you carry local money, credit cards accepted inside LOTTE only.
Hotel is recommended for a stay in Tashkent, it doesn`t matter if it is for business or leisure.

Perfect stay in all aspects

It’s always hard to review the hotel when your stay was excellent. Mine in Lotte was.

I chose Lotte to crown my trip to Uzbekistan before flying home. After travels throughout the country, including to the remote areas with no hotels, I was pleased to come back to all comforts, including nice furniture, excellent bathroom and decent service. The latter, however, felt somewhat official after home-like approach in smaller Uzbek towns that I got used to.

Registration, needed for all tourists to Uzbekistan, is provided here.

There are both stairs and elevators to get to the rooms, and a bell-boy to help with the luggage, if needed.

The room was exactly what you would expect from a typical fine hotel room. Nothing remarkable, but no complaints either. Excellent large bed was comfortable, with impeccably clean linen and good pillows. Not sure if I was just being lucky, but it was very quiet at night, also because my room overlooked the inner courtyard. So the sleep was wonderful.

The bathroom was perfect. Modern and clean, very well equipped. It had all toiletries one may possibly need, and they were of high quality. Needles to say, slippers, bathrobe and a hairdryer were available.

Complimentary water was provided. Free WiFi had a decent and stable signal.

I could see the outdoor pool (not too large) in the inner courtyard from my balcony, but didn’t have time to enjoy it. Next time, hopefully.

Dining experience was the only small downside during my stay.

After the long tough road trip, I didn’t feel like sitting in a restaurant let alone dining out. But there was no room service menu in the room – perhaps the only thing I lacked in Lotte.

Much to my regret, the outdoor roof restaurant, described by the hotel as offering “one of the most beautiful views in Tashkent”, was already closed during my stay (it’s a seasonal option). And main restaurant wasn’t servicing dinners yet. So I was left to the Piano Bar. Its menu turned out surprisingly fine and even sophisticated. I asked for the delivery to my room, and it was performed, although not too fast. Food was good, portions were just right, and the cost didn’t break a bank.

The night before my flight I asked for the breakfast takeaway, and the next morning it was done right on time.

pleasant hotel but slightly unflexible organisation

I stayed at the Lotte City Hotel Tashkent Palace as part of a group tour to Uzbekistan. It is a pleasant and nice hotel. Rooms are quite big, well kept and well maintained. They have all amenities and bottled water is offered for free every night. Breakfast is good even if it could be better for cereals and sweet food in general. Staff is gentle and helpful, generally speaking. However, there is a degree of lack of flexibility that prevented me to give five stars. In fact, due to the need to take a train, we asked to start breakfast at 06.45 when the normal opening time was 07.00. We were only offered tea and coffee and some sweets despite of the fact that it was only a quarter of a hour before normal opening times - and we were served at the bar and not in the restaurant. An hotel of this level should be able to better and more graciously accommodate a request of this kind.

Excellent Start to Central Asian Holiday

We stayed at the Tashkent Palace for three nights at the beginning of our holiday.

The rooms were new and tastefully decorated. The bathrooms were large with lots of amenities.

The noise proofing could be improved a bit as we were sometimes bothered by people returning to their rooms at night while we were sleeping but this was relatively minor.

What really impressed us was the breakfast buffet. The food was varied, plentiful and delicious. The chef made light, delicious omelettes and the croissants and other baked goods were delicious.

We had a good thin crust pizza in the bar one night.

The staff were all very friendly and helpful.

This hotel is in an excellent location and I would recommend it.

Excellent hotel in the middle of the city

I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights in April 2015. The hotel is centrally located, clean, rooms are nice and comfortable and the breakfast was very good. All staff spoke English and they were very polite and helpful. The only disadvantage is that there is no swimming pool.

Good property with out basic amenities

I stayed here with a group of eighty people ,no doubt hotel location, cleanliness ,room size every thing is very good ,but one small thing tea kit is not there and when you asked even for a little sugar they will charge for it although they had provided cattle for making tea,
Secondly there a/c are not in working condition during noon when you require some chill they are not working, and there service is very poor ,hose keeping dose not pick up your phone and for a fresh towel you have to wait for two, three hours and will have to remind them, front office staff is very helpful and cooperative

Lotte hotel Taskent

We stayed there for two weeks for work. It was wonderful. Clean, pleasant, welcoming. The best was the service. The stuff was kind, polite, carrying. It was like a home to us during our stay.

Gets better every time

Third time i have stayed here and each time they improve and my rating improves. The hotel staff were very helpful throughout. Some even remembered me.

The hotel has decent broadband now. The rooms are spacious with air conditioning as well as 2 lots of glazing which is needed in winter.

Breakfast has had a few items added as well.

Very good indeed

In my brief stay in November 2014, the hotel staff were so courteous and helpful, I would have to counter any negativity about the establishment. I'm a genuine traveller and regard the often mentioned facilities as most welcome in Uzbekistan, where I gather the hotel situation is rarely of such a standard. The bathroom, the bed and the room in total were comfortable, quite luxurious and obviously well managed. i must extend congratulations to the Korean ownership (and this manager who seems to reply to us all!) in taking over the hotel and obviously improving on the Tashkent standards others have described.I hope to return in the spring and would choose this hotel above any other I have heard of .

Good location, comfortable

I stayed here for a few days in December and was not disappointed.

Pros: Great customer service, great location near the Tsum department store, passable gym and sauna, good room amenities, good breakfast, strong wifi, good bathtub.

Cons: Indeed, you can hear the karaoke- I'm a heavy sleeper but it might annoy some. The bed felt like a box with a comforter stuffed under the sheet- not very comfortable.

Overall, I would gladly stay here again.

Clean, Comfortable but lack character

No doubt this is a solid 4-star business hotel in Tashkent. It has everything expected of a major hotel. The lobby is big and imposing, it's within walking distance to the opera hall in a quiet leafy area. The check in is smooth although it could be done in a speedier fashion. The interior looks more apt in the 90's. The room service and bar service can perhaps improve on the speed as well but this could also be how people take their time in Uzbekistan. I stayed here twice, at the start of my trip and the end of my trip. Both times the room service took a while. Also, if you are catching an early train to Bukhara, the hotel breakfast does not start till 7-ish and you will only find stale bread at the bar area with coffee from the thermos. If only they will pack breakfast for those who need to leave early.

On a bright side, the telly has decent international channels, the power shower is wonderful, the rooms are clean, rooms face a beautiful courtyard which is usually very quiet. The internet is decent and it's free.

My sense is a lot of international and business visitors will end up here one way or another.

Nice stay in Tashkent

We stayed twice on this comfortable hotel during our trip in Uzbekistan. On our first two nights we had a nice view to the opera house. Breakfast was very good with a nice selection of food. The rooms were clean, good size and with very good beds. Large and well equipped bathrooms.

A welcome respite

We started and finished our 2 week trip around Uzbekistan in Tashkent and stayed at the Lotte both times. The beds are fantastically comfortable which was a relief after having spent almost 4 hours getting through the international airport and as Turkish Airlines had managed to mislay one of our bags, thank goodness for a good, spacious bathroom where I could do some washing! If you are unfortunate to arrive without all of your belongings the bathroom is equipped with pretty much everything you could need.

The reception staff were fantastic, they were patient and kind towards our 7 year old who can be a bit loud and overly enthusiastic at times.

The rooms were clean and well designed, we had a kettle but no cups, saucers or tea/coffee which was a little weird. Sometimes the mini-bar had been filled and sometimes it was empty, we had adjoining rooms and the facilities did vary. They do seem to have problems with constant hot water and I had to go down one evening to make a fuss as the hotel was practically empty and I imagine a couple of the boilers had been shut down. In a hotel of this calibre this really shouldn't be an issue.

Breakfast was fine, if I am going to be extremely critical it isn't up to European or 5* hotel standards but then Tashkent isn't in Europe so really it's not a surprise.

The hotel is expensive, probably a little too expensive, but it is an oasis of calm and if we visited Tashkent again we would stay here.

top hotel quiet area close to atractions

I visited Tashkent in October . chk in was swift I had a room on the 4th floor. the building is pretty large ans so was the room. first impression positive ! room is large , bathroom very nice with lots of room. tv had numerous channels including English . area is very quiet at night the hotel facing Bolshoi opera which is under renovation. there is a shopping center near by and also independence park.
I had few breakfasts in the hotel and it was the best I had in Uzbekistan !!! I love fresh assortment of breads , smoked fish , lots of fruits yougurts and a station for cooking eggs and omelettes . the restaurant itself is very nice and well appointed.
they have a bank inside the hotel so its convenient to change money. staff is kind and helpful , lobby manager allowed me to use her desk to go on the internet since they don't have a business center.
the room was cold though and they told me that they do not have heat yet in the building , it was 4c outside like 39f.
all and all very good hotel definitely recommend it !!!

Very nice hotel. The lobby gives a rather cool impression but the rooms are nice and large. Plenty of space, very good and large bed with excellent duvets, well eqquiped bathroom with plenty of toiletries.
The breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice, an ommelet bar and good bread. The hotel is very well located in the center of Tashkent.
This hotel is certainly a must when staying in Uzbekistan.

Pure luxury in the center of Tashkent

Very central location, elegant entrance with lounge/bar, much granite in warm tones. 3 efficient glassed elevators with views to the garden. Good sized carpeted bedroom with comfortable large bed and excellent bedding and, as I only found out on the second day, my room was actually a suite with an attached living room with sofa, easy chairs, desk and second TV. Good regular sized desk, however with only one power outlet above the desk. Free but rather slow wifi. Refrigerator but no mini-bar, 2 bottles of water per day were provided free. Excellent tiled bathroom with ample granite counter space to place toiletries. Large mirror with close-up mirror. Good tub/shower and good towels. Outstanding breakfast in very spacious restaurant with 2 great varieties of smoked fish and plenty of other choices in meats, cheeses, fruits, etc etc including an al fresco egg and omlet station and the possibility to eat outside. As I stayed here with a tour group, I have no indication of the cost. Throughout the hotel elegant and friendly service - top marks for this hotel.

Very nice if a little lacking in charm

The Tashkent Palace is a very pleasant hotel in the centre of Tashkent. The hotel is a generic high end hotel and lacks the charm of many other hotels but has all the comforts that others lack.

Our room was very pleasant, quiet and clean. Breakfast was very good. On our arrival the reception staff were not helpful: there was a big queue despite there being many unoccupied members of staff, no-one helped us with our luggage until we got to the lift (which was too late by them). The reception situation didn't improve with our stay with there continually being many staff but no-one to help you.

Despite the poor welcome I would recommend if you want a hassle free hotel.

A really good stay lessened a bit

We stayed at the Tashkent Palace Two nights in mid-September 2014. Room was very nice, breakfast was good also. Visit was spoiled by the hotel's sponsoring a World Tennis Association party which they set up in the quadrangle which forms the back of the hotel. Screamingly loud rock band played for several hours which deafened us even in the hotel room. We complained, but of course it was to no avail. If you can check with the hotel before setting up a reservation about any events they may be planning then go ahead and set up a stay.

Great choice

Just make sure your room is not above the Karaoke bar if you want to get some sleep...
We stayed in the Lotte 3 times, and were taken with the excellent bedding, cleanliness, the helpful and cordial stuff and the location. Breakfast is the best we had in Uzbekistan. But on our last visit, the Karaoke went on and on, full volume, just under our room. At 1:00 AM the reception did not offer any help. it took persistent nagging until we finally were moved to a quite room by 3:00 AM, and the music was still going strong...

Lovely hotel in Tashkent

Stayed in this hotel for two nights, it is well located in this beautiful city.
Our room a good size with a good bathroom. The showers could have been hotter.
The bed was very comfortable and pillows excellent.
The room lacked a tea and coffee facility but this was resolved and we had a cup and teapot brought to our room. We used our own tea bags.
The wifi was very good in our room.
Our room faced the court yard and we did not get the street noise.
Breakfasts here were excellent but the dinner was quite ordinary.

i would only stay here ...

This hotel was surprisingly good and its location is the best in town. Stellar all the way around. One of the best breakfasts that i had in almost a month travelling through all of Central Asia (admittedly a low bar but it would stack up very well against most Western establishments as well). Everyone was helpful - which is quite important given the hassle of travelling through Uzbekistan - and everything ran like clockwork.

As an aside, most people just come through Tashkent as a stop over on their way to Samarkand/ Bukhara/ Khiva. I think this is a mistake. Tashkent is actually quite pretty and has a lot of museums, and its generally quite easy to walk in the center. Its worth spending a day here at least, maybe two, rather than using it just as a transit point.

A lovely welcome to Uzbekistan

My first night visiting Uzbekistan was spent at the Lotte Palace across from the (under restoration) Navoi Theatre in the heart of Tashkent. Travelling with family with a private guide it was a lovely start to our holidays. The only surprise was the lack of decent coffee with the breakfast (it was nescafe, which we found across the entire country). Real coffee was available for purchase in the bar, however the prices were surprisingly high.

Very good rooms, with a nice atmosphere and good wifi. Pool wasn't yet open for the year (not sure why).

Restaurant needs to be improved

I am giving it 3 stars just because the restaurant food is terrible and awfully expensive comparing to other places in the city, which are also nearby. The breakfast is really good, but there are always a lot of things are missing: like cloth napkins on the tables. Sometimes little things make the difference. The internet is super slow at the hotel. The room key needs to be recharged every 2 days. And when you realized that your key needs to be charged, you have to go all the way downstairs to charge it.
The staff is very friendly and helpful. I think I would like to try some other places next time.

Lotte

Best hotel in Tashkent

I have been several times in Uzbekistan and it is interesting to see development of the hotels in Tashkent. The hotel is completely renovated, the rooms are nice and spacious. Free WIFI in the entire hotel. Breakfast was great. Would definitely rate the hotel one of the top tier in Uzbekistan
and a great place to return.

Great rooms but service iffy

Lovely room overlooking pool with two balconies.
Lots of staff but they don't smile or seem to care.
Not well trained, we had to request tea three times for breakfast!
No mattresses or towels or staff at poolside but lovely garden.

getting much better

This is the second time i have stayed in this hotel due to work. It has been refurbished since my last visit and the improvements have definitely helped. There is now free internet in all rooms. This is a boon as a business traveler. The staff as last time were helpful and where the bank facilities let the hotel down there were no issues. However all staff should try to say the same thing. Was told a credit card was usable to order food then it was rejected in the restaurant.
For my next trip I will ask to stay here again

Phew! Nice Hotel

Stayed overnight. The hotel had:
(a) good wi fi
(b) friendly service
(c) good bathrooms
(d) nicely located if you like to walk around
(e) open and sense of space, especially nice if you are even slightly claustraphobic
(f) a very nice espresso.
Service was a bit patchy and erratic, something to be expected in a new hotel. The room they showed us when we went to check it out had fresh flowers but when we stayed there werent any ......we got our first espresso wtih awesome biscuits and next time there werent any ... on the whole good, much better than the other hotel we were staying at Tashkent. Didnt eat there but breakfast was standard/nice. The hotel had just been rennovated, but finishes and etc were getting slightly undone ... something to watch out for.

excellent hotel, inexpert restaurant service

We spent two nights at this fine hotel with a few days interval. The location is excellent, the commen area impressive and the hotel staff were very attentive and polite although they gave us a wrong direction to get to the centre of the city. Our room was excellent and breakfast was fine. We had dinner at the restaurant (hefty prices) and were surprised how inexpert the service was. The waiter apparently could not believe that we wanted a whole bottle of wine and his twiddling with the glasses was a bit comic. Overall though, an excellent hotel.

We stayed there for five nights...it is a beautifull hotel and the location was very central...subway train was near.
The main problem was language because most people know only uzbek language and tourists dont know how to speak this language. Therefore it was a very big problem to us so tour guide is must...overall we enjoyed there very much...and it is a beautifull and cheap country with smiling persons :)

The hotel itself is built in the European style and it shows as well in the interiors of the lobby and the room. The building is low-rise and each floor has its rooms spread out in 3 major sections. Unfortunately, this means it's a long walk to get to some of the rooms.

The rooms are immaculately clean and seem quite new. It also helped that they're painted in bright and cheery colors to really maximize the hotel atmosphere. The bathroom is also similarly spacious and includes the standard amenities that one would expect from a hotel of its class.

We left very early the next day and managed to have our breakfast specially arranged by the hotel. I don't know what their standard breakfast offerings are but we were given mostly pastries and breads.

A wonderful hotel within walking distance of parks , shopping and the subway .There was a large pool , but it was not heated . The restaurant was good and the staff were friendly and helpful . I really appreciated Sardor's help at the front desk. We were there twice , and thought it was the nicest place we stayed in Uzbekistan.

All prices are quoted in dollars but the bill can be paid in "sums" at the official exchange rate.
The rooms are clean and large.

Nice staff and nice breakfast, clean room and swimming pool. Location is also convenient but the fountain is really noisy from 6 to 10 in the evening, so DON'T take the fountain side! The wifi is only availabe in the lobby..

Lots of rooms, air con, comfortable beds, wifi in the lobby and bar, good speed, ( for central Asia). Breakfasts quite adequate, service quite reasonable. Corridors a bit empty, almost as though the hotel is new. Location is excellent. For Tashkent, it is amazing and comfortable, but don't expect Vegas on the amu darya! It's central Asia, so have a sense of location when staying. The price varies, it's worth going through an agent, as the rack rate is probably about $200 which it's 100% not worth! We paid less and it was fine....

Centrally located, the rooms are clean, tidy and well equipped. The bar/ piano lounge has a well priced menu, the breakfast room had insufficient chairs and resulted in unplanned comedy as guests stalked to find somewhere to sit.

In the heart of center, Amir Timur Square, this hotel is cosy, big and comfortable. Swimmin pool is one of the attractions in Tashkent. Also try the roof restaurant
