Around the Big Chimgan Duration: 7 days, 6 nights
Kind of route: mountain trekking
Season: 01 June - 30 September
Tour itinerary: Tashkent - Chimgan mountain region - Tashkent

This adventure tour in Uzbekistan is an example of a hosted package tour, consisting of mountain trekking and one-day hotel accommodation. In the following itinerary only the highlights are shown.

The mountain region of the Western Tian Shan begins 60 km to the East of Tashkent. There are 5 main mountain ranges (Ugamskiy, Kuraminskiy, Chatkalskiy, Korgantau and Pskemskiy) with many branches in an area of 20,000 km2 between Talass and the Fergana valleys. The richness of this area of mighty summits and ridges, rivers, and lakes as well as the peculiar natural and climate conditions are favorable for mountain tours. Summer (July-August) in valleys is hot and dry, but in the higher mountains it is cooler. In the valleys the temperature is 300C and at an altitude of 1500 m it is +200 C. In summertime it very seldom rains. The temperature in 24 hrs ranges from +120 C to +300 C. The active portion of this tour will acquaint you with one of the most picturesque places in the Western Tian Shan and Chimgan natural areas. To cross the passes on foot is not difficult as all passes are smooth and grassy.
