Excellent Hotel in a vantage location

We spent here four nights in this Hotel and were in fact pleasantly surprised by the first look and feel of the Hotel. The hotel has 22 rooms, 10 with balconies. Our triple room located in the first floor was clean and comfortable…

1. Location is excellent; 5 minutes walking distance from Kalon complex and some famed madrassas, and also from 3 old domed covered markets.
2. The room was spacious with the three single beds well spaced out
3. The room had two balconies, but one opening towards the Kalon complex wall locked
4. Lovely open courtyard for breakfast with typical Uzbek carved wooden columns and lovely ceiling
5. Bed mattress were strong and comfortable
6. The terrace offers an excellent panorama of the old Bukhara monuments in the vicinity of the Hotel

1. Since the hotel is located in the pedestrian old city, luggage has to be carried the last 80 odd meters from the parking lot.
2. Good spread in the Breakfast menu but we were surprised that the menu was unchanged over the 4 days.
3. Hotel doesn’t have a restaurant

Our stay was good and comfortable. The staff was friendly and spoke good English. Recommended.

Somebody could say,it is 3 *** only-but beeing really unique,for us it was 4-5***

Beginning we have to say,we have been in Bukhara in early march and we learned: This is no touristic season at all. What a pleasure avoiding thousends of organized tourists, and what a pleasure as well:This Hotel provided with only a little staff an excellent service for the 2 of us and 2 other guests (technicians of Lukoil)- reception, information, room and breakfast buffet. But the most important fact:This hotel is situated in an incomparabile location in the historic centre
of Bokhara, next to the basar, the mosques and medresses, in this incredibly interesting city as a treasure of architectural arts
Our room was sufficient for 3 days/nights,TV sometimes working, sometimes not, room safe and minibar to be equipped after our orders (Wine included),lobby bar was ok, lunch and dinner
in the restaurant we cannot refer anything,as we had our meals outdoors, breakfast was very
We will not forget Bokhara in the future and we shall not forget the Omar Khayam in that very special location.

Best hotel throughout our stay

It was our 3rd hotel during a 10 day trip to Uzbekistan. This hotel shone right through. Wifi connection was excellent, big clean room, good running water.
We stayed 3 days there and enjoyed the spaciousness of the room.

Clean and a Convenient Base

Hotel Omar Khayyam is ideally situated in the heart of the Old City of Bukhara. From here, it's walking distance to most of the major sites such as Registan Square, several mosques and madrassahs, and most especially to the three historical bazaars: 1) the Jewellers' Bazaar (Tok-i-Zargoron), 2) Cap Makers' Bazaar (Tok-i-Tilpak Furushon, and 3) the Moneychangers' Bazaar (Tok-i-Sarrafon). This hotel looks fairly new, is clean and comfortable, though of simple amenities. While the room was not cramped, we had 2 single beds with only one pillow each; the bathroom is rather small, and so was the shower tub. There was a small ref in the room, but it was not plugged in, and the air-conditioning, for that time of the year (very hot, 100-degree temperatures) was rather weak. The electric system can only support either the air-conditioning or the ref, not both, and we believe this is more of a city problem rather than a hotel problem. The drain in the bathroom floor was also not draining properly. However, breakfast was filling enough with sufficient choices to get us through the day, and the service was prompt and attentive. The breakfast room pleasantly looks out into the hotel's inner courtyard. The front desk people were also helpful and accommodating, though there was no internet connection at the time of our visit.

Excellent hotel, clean room, good breakfast & central location

Spent here two nights and was pleasantly surprised. Room was very clean, I love when there is no carpet. Mattress was excellent! I have back problems, so that's typically an issue but not here. The bathroom especially was very practical with modern taps and hot water available. My room was in the second floor with a small balcony to inner yard. Breakfast is also with wide variety and there are some tables in the yard to enjoy the breakfast there. Hotel was really quiet and so good night sleep.

The location is excellent as well. It's in the old town where cars can't come. Walking distance to almost all major attractions. Staff is very helpful.

Best possible location

Located right in the heart of old Bukhara this hotel is the perfect base for exploring Bukhara. Its only drawback is that you cannot get all the way to the hotel by car, so luggage has to be carried the last 500 meters through the pedestrian old city. The hotel looks new, the lobby is well laid out and the open courtyard is great for a quiet breakfast. My room was spacious and comfortable, and the English speaking staff very friendly.
