Upscale executive hotel; walk to centre, metro station, restaurants; courteous, helpful, staff; huge, comfortable rooms

The hotel is in a quiet commercial area (lacking shops and nearby restaurants, and with a local junior college across the street) which connects two main roads but carries little traffic. In the city centre, Independence Square is a convenient 10-15 minute walk away.

English-speaking staff at reception were pleasant, helpful and cooperative. During our stays, Farizod and Marut were especially courteous and obliging. Check-in took about five minutes. Note that early check-in, that is before 2 p.m., incurs an additional 50% of the daily room charge.

The lobby has a foreign exchange kiosk exchanging foreign currency at the official rate of the day, usually about 3,000 som to the US dollar

Floors 2 to 7 have accommodation. Confirm that you receive a room in a non-smoking area. In the morning, the corridor to our room smelled of cigarette smoke. Rooms x101 to x115 are to the right of the lifts-elevators, x116 to x129 to the left. Odd numbered rooms face west, the street front of the hotel; even numbered rooms face east and the back.

The spacious wardrobe-closet contained a room safe large enough for full-size laptop, two dressing gowns-bathrobes, slippers, a shoe horn and shoe polishing sponge. The room had tea making facilities and a bar fridge (check that it is plugged in). The work desk had a flexible light and an office chair. The corner sitting area had a sofa, easy chair, coffee table and table lamp. The free WiFi worked well.

The flat-screen TV had around 45 channels in English, Uzbek, Italian, French, German, Russian, Arabic, Japanese, Korean, Hindi, Urdu, Turkish, Farsi, Chinese, Kurdish showing a range of news, entertainment, sports, music, cartoons and documentaries. The air conditioning was quiet and worked well.

The double-glazed, wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling window had an openable panel, and both privacy and room-darkening curtains. Soundproofing from outside was good.

Our room had two comfortable double beds and four pillows. We slept well. One of the bedside tables had a telephone and a console showing the time and controlling the room lights. The letters D.N.D. stood for Do Not Disturb and operated a light outside the room to alert housekeeping. Attached to the wall on either side of the bed was a lamp for reading.

The bathroom had a wall-attached hair dryer and a full bath with shower. Toiletries included solid soap, shampoo, foam bath, body lotion, toothbrushes and paste, razors and shaving cream, shower caps and sanitary bags. The lighting was low, in part from the use of low-power, energy-saving light bulbs. While one showered, the sealant between the wall and the edge of the bath channeled some of the water onto the floor forming a puddle between the bath and the toilet. We could reduce this by bunching the shower curtain to dam the trickle; however, we still found it useful to place the bath mat in the area.

Housekeeping was thorough, though we had give reminders on a couple of occasions, and provided bottled water. The carpet though could have been vacuumed more often, comprehensively and efficiently.

In the ground floor restaurant, to the side of the bar, a buffet breakfast was available from 7 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Monday to Friday and 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. On your way in, someone will check the hotel guest list. The extensive selection had a wide range of foods both western and local, hot and cold, savory and sweet, fresh and dried fruit, juices, coffee, tea, etc. At a dedicated counter, you could order eggs cooked to order. Some cooked and pastry items changed from day-to-day. You should find it easy to select items to your taste. Service was courteous, attentive and efficient. One could also eat on the outside patio.

For convenience one night, we dined in the large hotel restaurant. The menu had a international selection of dishes, but mainly American and western European. Our selection of local dishes was unexceptional. The prices in U.S. dollars were expensive by local standards, but roughly what one would expect to pay in the U.S. We were the only diners at the time. Service was friendly, attentive and efficient. Lunch hours were 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. and dinner from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.

The nearest metro-subway station was about 3.5 blocks away at Shahrisabz and Oybek ko'chasi. The underground-subway entrance was marked "Ming O'rik". Once you are on the station platform, there is a pedestrian tunnel which connects to Oybek station on the line to Chorsu market. Note that you will undergo to security checks: the first is at the top of the stairs down where a policeman will ask to look in any bag you might be carrying; the second one is more comprehensive before you pass through turnstiles to go down to the platform, which is also patrolled by police. At the corner of Shahrisabz and Amir Temur street, 1.5 blocks along the way, is a bus stop with routes 14, 18, 46, 55, 58, 78 and 98.

The restaurant "Palete" (open 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.), with attractive, contemporary decor, is on the ground floor of the white building (with the large sign on top for Hyundai Engineering Co. Ltd.) on the corner to the right up the street across from the hotel. It has both indoor and outside patio dining. The bilingual menu, with English, was expensive by local standards but acceptable by U.S. standards. On the corner to the left down the street from the hotel was a very basic diner; however, you would probably need to communicate in Uzbek or Russian to order.

At the corner of Shahrisabz and Amir Temur streets, on the next corner of the block from Palete, was "Brasserie, Pastrie & Caf?" which had a menu in English, good selection and reasonable prices; it closed at 5 a.m. The restaurant had both inside and outside patio dining, and waiters who spoke English. We ate there a couple of times and enjoyed the atmosphere, the food and efficient, attentive service.

One block farther on, across Taras Shevchenko, was a "Mini Market", actually more a Micro Market — a tiny, congested convenience store, but one of the very few that we came across during our stay in the city.

We arrived at the airport on a Sunday at 1:30 a.m. so took a taxi. The waiting area is across the street in front of the terminal and behind a fence where people wait to meet arrivals. A helpful person took us to a driver. We were quoted a standard foreigners fare of US$10, lower for locals. The price could be as low as US$5 if you knew how to negotiate; however, at 1:30 a.m. and after 22 hours of travel time, all that we wanted to do was get to the hotel and go to sleep, not haggle in an unfamiliar language. The drive to the hotel took ten minutes through deserted streets.

Friendly and comfortable hotel

I stayed at Miran International from 23 to 28 October 2016. I had read a luke-warm report of this hotel and was a bit apprehensive in selecting it. However, once at the hotel, it turned out to be a wonderful experience. Nearly all employees spoke English and communication was no problem with the staff. The hotel itself is imposing and has a grand look. The lobby, reception and bar area have been done up attractively and the entire hotel gives a regal look. The check-in/check-out process is well managed, luggage taken care of and delivered to the room. The rooms are HUGE, carpeted and very comfortable with all basic amenities. The d?cor and selection of furniture, linen, toiletry items, tea/refreshments has been meticulously thought of. Air conditioning and lighting are perfect. Sauna/Steam/Jacuzzi and heated swimming pool facilities are available. I occupied a room on the sixth floor facing the majestic snow-capped mountains- charming view. The staff is well-trained, efficient, courteous and helpful. Dining was a pleasant experience in the restaurant. An Indian Chef added to the delight. Buffet Breakfast is a lavish spread and very filling. The reception staff and the restaurant staff interact with you and make you feel at 'home'. The hotel is located in an upmarket locality and it plays host to a number of events in its Banquet Hall. It is a popular spot to host parties and other events. Overall, good value for money and a nice hotel to stay in.

Fantastic hotel with great staff and huge guest rooms!

I stayed at the Miran International Hotel for one night, whilst on a business trip. I received a very warm welcome from the staff, who were friendly and helpful, organising an early start to breakfast service to accommodate my early departure for a flight. My room was enormous, with a huge, very comfortable bed, facilities to make a hot drink (including complimentary mineral water), and a good space with a desk to work. The wifi was excellent throughout the hotel. My bathroom was spacious, with an excellent shower. I would definitely stay in this hotel again in the future, and although it was late evening when I arrived, and I left early the next day, it appeared to be close to major sights in Tashkent, and was certainly well-located for the airport.

Good Hotel

Good hotel with spacious rooms. Although the rooms seem a little dates, they were clean, quiet and allowed for nice nights sleep. Tashkent is a very large spread out city so hotel is not close to that many sights but within of about 15 mins you can reach a few spots and the metro is nearby which makes life easier. A grocery store is across the street. I would stay here again.

Biggest hotel room I've ever seen

The hotel is located close to Amir Temur Square in the centre of the city. The rooms are huge and, while it is true that the power sockets are not located near the bedside tables, the bed is comfortable, everything works (though you may have to ask the bell boy to help initially),including the free WIFI and the air-conditioning system (the latter regardless of whether you are there or not). The reception staff and some of the restaurant staff speak English, and the service is generally very good. The breakfast buffet is not particularly Uzbek or indeed anything else, but there is plenty of it, and you can order scrambled eggs or an omelette to be made as you wish. And there is real coffee, in addition to black and green tea. You can change money in the official exchange booth, though you will have to ask the bell boy to help as the staff speak only Uzbek and Russian. I arrived and checked in at 3.30 am and checked out at 3 am with no problems. There are plenty of places in the adjoining streets to eat and there are little shops and a supermarket at the bottom of the street.

Great staff, hugh rooms

We stayed for 3 nights and were happy with the hotel. The rooms are very big and overall clean. The bathroom could need a bit of work, but was clean. The downside was the breakfast. There is a hugh choice, but it seems not really fresh.
The best of the hotel is the staff at the front desk. They are very helpful and made our stay great.
I can really recommend the hotel.

Huge, quiet rooms, sumptuous breakfast

As every other reviewer has stated, the rooms are huge. While the views are nothing to speak about, the hotel seems to be in a quite part of the city. A funny thing about the toiletries was that all the tubes - shampoos, conditioners etc - felt half-filled. Perhaps this is done to reduce wastage.

The room lighting was all white, which makes it feel somewhat gloomy. The air conditioning only works in heat mode in winter. Opening the window cools the room well enough. The slightly annoying part is the sound of the gushing wind all through the night.

The breakfast has a wide spread, including many sweet pastries and some quirks like wafers that I haven't seen served elsewhere. Dinner was not bad either. Most of the staff speak good English. They accommodated us on an early check-in and were generally efficient.

Very pleasant hotel, large rooms

I had a week here at the end of November/December and a very pleasant stay it was. The lobby is large and marble like and the dining room is adjacent, where they serve a good buffet breakfast, and you can order omelettes etc, the espresso was pretty good. We made frequent use of the bar and the bottled beer was surprisingly drinkable. It was handy for the nearby University where I was based. There is a large swimming pool in the basement which I used every day in the early morning - it opens at 7am and on only one day did I have company and then only one person.
The rooms are large and well furnished, one of my friends suggested it was the size of a 5 a side football pitch! The only complaint I had was the aircon which seemed to be stuck at 26 centigrade so the only option was to turn it off. The windows do open but didn't really let much air in. The Wifi worked well and overall it was a very good base for a working trip to Tashkent.

Expensive early check-in

Facade: 5/5. Looks good.
Room: 4/5. Huge (70+ sqm), has safe, nice LCD TV, big windows. Shower system is very cheap and not comfortable. Comfortable huge bed. When I was in (end of October) A/C system was not working in "cold" mode. All hotel rooms were 28 degrees Celsius inside hot and dry. Only opened window saved from this big issue no one tried to solve.
Location: 4/5. Did not walk out, should be somewhere in the city center. (Front) window view is not impressive.
Breakfast: 4/5. Good but not enough hot dishes choice for me. A lot of bakery, sweets, seasonal fruits.
Health options: n/a. Pool, sauna and gym. Didn't visit. No comments.

Good business hotel

This is business hotel in the heart of the political and financial district of the city. Very clean and beautiful side of Tashkent with gardens and western style super markets, restaurants and shops. Little far from the old Tashkent, but there is not much left of the old city to worth staying near it. Room is comfortable, clean, great Internet connection, good breakfast and very friendly staff.

Very Good Hotel In Tashkent

I'd been advised by local Russian friends that the Miran was one of the newest and probably the better hotels in Tashkent. it is a business hotel so lacking much character. however the rooms were huge and the hotel did have a pool and a gym.

The hotel food was fine. traditional (Meat) dishes were done well but the western dishes (Pasta, Pizza, Burger) were a little hit and miss. i had thai green curry 'pasta' one night that was slightly odd. Contery to things i'd read about tashkent, its absolutely safe to walk the streets and an extremely moderate muslim country. The girls all dressed in skirts and t-shirts heels etc. It was all more 'Normal' than i expected. A great City. Totally recommend getting the London tour bus that leaves from the Uzbekistan Hotel most days. a great way to access areas of the city that you would not usually get a chance to see. The Uzbek hotel is about 10 minutes walk from the Miran Int Hotel. Hotel WiFi was also very good.

The most spacious room in central asia

This hotel is located in very quite area in Tashkent, nothing nearby. but the hotel staff is friendly and speaking good english.

the room size is the most spacious room i have ever seen in central Asia, with seating sofa and office desk. the bathroom is having all amenities and the most important for me is the muslim hose next to the toilet seat.

the building is looking like if it is recently renovated but the housekeeping is average.

Good business hotel

we spent one night at the beginning and end of our trip. Staff are very friendly and spoke very good English. We were given an upgrade to a superior room which was very well furnished, comfortable and vast. The bathroom had a large two person bath but no shower, I would much rather have a shower. We left the hotel at 4 am and were given a breakfast plate when we checked out. Paying in local currency made the bill much cheaper because of the exchange rate we were able to get.
At the end of our stay we had a standard room. In all honesty we preferred this room. Once again it was a very large well furnished room with two double beds. There was a shower in the bathroom, bonus.
We ate at the hotel on both evenings but the food was not particularly inspiring. The breakfast buffet however was extensive, something for everyone.
Although there was wifi the signal was not particularly good.
All in all a pleasant stay.

Good hotel in Tashkent

We were a group of business people staying in this hotel. We all agreed that the hotel provided value for money: good, large rooms, good beds. Internet workable, not so fast, though
Service was good with staff that was trying to speak english. Breakfast not so attractive, much influenced by the russian way of breakfast.
I found the prices for drinks like beer and soft drinks like coke too high

As good as it gets in Tashkent

We spent there two nights and were happy with our choices. The rooms are huge, and have big glass fronts facing out to a not really nice part of the town. The room was clean, had all key things required, and also featured a big bathroom. Breakfast was ok, lots of different sweats, and a decent choice of the usual breakfast items. What we did not like as much was that the walls are rather thin and the room doors are not isolating noise well either. Thus, we heard what was going on next door, and also on the corridor. I was also a bit annoyed by their rather offensive security, asking both of us to show their individual room keys. The location is fine, the modern part of town can be reached quickly by foot.

Nothing really wrong this hotel, very good!

I would give this place full five points, but have to take one point away because of the restaurant. The breakfast in this hotel was very good but the one dinner we ate there was overpriced and not good at all. But everything else was more than good in Miran: super friendly service, extremely clean, huge room, not as much smell of smoking than in other places in Tashkent. All in all: good job Miran. Good location as well. Wifi was good compared to another hotel we stayed in.

Best place to stay in Tashkent!

Stayed from 30th December 2014 till 12th January 2015.. spent the New Year in Uzbekistan, from what I heard, the hotel will have a really huge nice awesome party every New Year.

4th time in Uzbekistan and I can say, Miran is by far the best place I've stayed in.

The rooms are SOOO HUGE, I could go jogging around my room. Beds are really comfy, so was the sofa. I was chilling comfortably from day till night on some days when I was there because the room was really relaxing, there are many international channels to entertain you, and the food on room service is really good too. It was winter, but the temperature control in the room is so good despite having thin floor-to-ceiling glass windows, not once did I feel uncomfortable. Wifi in the room is also one of the best among other hotels in Tashkent, and it's free.

Service is excellent too, the staff for front desk and room service are really polite and professional and speak really good English. The housekeeping staff too, although most of them do not speak much English but if there is anything you need, the front desk staff is always there and willing to help :) Few occasions when I was waiting for my friends in the lobby, the staff would check on me to ask if there is anything I need or if I need any transport around or any translation assistance.

Buffet breakfast is good... Location-wise, the hotel is about a 10 minute walk to Amir Timur Square, along the way there is a Book Cafe with awesome coffee and a nice vibe (mainly quiet polite students from the nearby University) and a really nice Plov/Somsa restaurant just behind it which I highly recommend if you get hungry and you do not want hotel food. Once at Amir Timur, there is the underground train, an Art Bazaar nearby and multiple restaurants and cafes so the hotel is really at a good location. There is a supermarket just 5 minutes away from the hotel too.

There is a gym and pool in this hotel too but I did not utilise it because I'm just lazy ahahaha.

ATM in the hotel lobby is only for Visa cards (you've been warned).. the nearest Mastercard ATM is at Hotel Uzbekistan at Amir Timur Square about 10mins away.

I wished I had paid more attention to names of the staff.. every single staff that attended to me was really professional and deserve some commendation for excellent service. Great job, would definitely stay here again in future.

Surprised to find Indian channels-DD news,DD Nation & B4 U movies. B/F Spread was good, palatable & having few Indian dishes daily. At dinner time the music band performance was enjoyable. All that Glitters is not Gold

The Miran lists itself as a Luxury Business Hotel. Indeed outwardly it has all the correct appearances and features. The staff are very welcoming and attentive, mainly their English is good. They proudly displayed in the foyer a sign that states they are a nominee for the World Luxury Hotel Awards 2015. The issue is in the detail, but first the description.

Build on 7 floors, serviced by 2 lifts. Good check in, efficient even at 01:30 hrs when I arrived. Has a large airy dining room open from Breakfast to Evening meal. Has a basement pool and well equipped Gym open from 07:00 to 23:00! In the times I attended I was the only person there apart from the gym trainer and the attendant.

My room was enormous! I am told this is a feature of this hotel. The footprint of the room is larger than that of my house! With a bed that was around 3m in width and 2m long there was space for the biggest parties! The room has a large flat screen TV, needed because it is on the opposite side of the room to the arm chair and 2 seat settee. The full wall glass to the front of the hotel allows plenty of light during the day, and is covered by heavy curtains in the evening. Again these were needed as you could feel the cold through the window if you peak behind the curtains. (It was snowing during my December visit). The bathroom was quiet standard, and non-descript in comparison to the grandeur of the room size. Hot water was a plenty and did not vary in temperature under the shower. All areas were clean and tidy, and the simple room fixtures did not show any sign of wear.

Now the “buts”: The main reason we all stay in an hotel is to get a good nights sleep. To achieve this is I need the place to be clean, safe, and have a comfortable place to lie down. I had 2 of the 3. The mattress in my room was dire. Constructed with a hard raised lip on the edge means that, if like me you sleep to the side of the bed, you are constantly feeling the pressure of the lip on your leg. On the top surface of the mattress, if you run your hands over you feel all the springs. This was not good. It would be wrong to say I did not sleep, but I have had better nights in much lesser hotels.

The little things that make a difference: I sometimes think that people who design and layout a room should at least spend some time in them. My frustrating point being the light switches. I like to be able to control the lights when I am in bed. At least to be able to turn a bedside light on/off and preferably have a master off switch to avoid having to get up again to turn off the entry door light you forgot earlier. In this room the there was no master switch. OK, I can live with that, however the bed side light switch was located at the base of the wall mounted lamp some 1.25m above the mattress. So to operate it you had to sit up fully and reach above your head! Not good in the middle of the night when you really don’t want to wake up that much. It may sound that I am being picky but just try it and after a few nights it becomes an issue!

Second little thing that made me laugh. On the side in the room is a tray equipped with a kettle, 2 cups, tea, (no coffee), powdered milk and sugar. All very good. The base for the cordless kettle has an electrical lead threaded through a hole in the tray. This lead is about 30cm long at best, and the nearest plug point is? ……. over a metre away! I could not even move the tray onto the floor to make the lead reach the plug as the socket was too high from the ground! It didn’t take too much engineering to unravel the plug and move the kettle onto a chair I put close to the socket, but it did make me laugh. See my point about designers should live in the rooms they layout!

Overall this is an OK hotel. Clean, working, beginning to show the signs of aging, but aren’t we all? World Luxury Hotel standard, I think not. I will return, but just hope someone takes note about the mattress situation!

One of the Best hotel to stay in Tashkent with Huge Rooms...!!

This property can be rated 5* if they solve the service issues.
The rooms are really very huge, staffs are friendly,
Property is maintained by an Indian who is a General Manager of the property.
Nice spread of the breakfast with option of Indian and Vegetarian Food.

Sleep quality was nice, but there is one drawback when it comes to wash room, as the wash rooms are very Compaq and small.

Not bad for Central Asia

Central Asia still has a way to go in offering high standard tourist and business hotels but the Miran attempts to do this. We stayed three times over a three week period. First night was disappointing as it smelt of smoke although it was a non smoking room. Next room on opposite side of road was much better, although I notice an ashtray and matches are supplied to all rooms. Rooms as noted unnecessarily large but bathrooms a good size. Use mat in bath/shower as floor can be slippery. Rooms have free bottled water replaced each day and tea and coffee making facilities. Windows can be opened if you don't like AC. Gym room was good but I wasn't keen on swimming in the nice looking pool located in the basement. Overall the staff are OK with the concierge particularly helpful.

Restaurant area and meals are OK, staff efficient and some are friendly although they did run out of beer on one occasion. There is nothing of note in the surrounding area. There is a large supermarket at the end of the road. Local taxi drivers may not know the location of the hotel so get some directions from the reception. I was a little perturbed one night when two housekeeping staff burst into my room right after knocking not giving me a chance to answer the door.

Staff needs to be better trained

The staff took about 30 minutes to do checking for me and my colleague. First they started to look some sort of registration then to ask questions on the the goal of my visit to Uzbekistan. After all the "border control question", noticed that they wanted to overcharge me by including "early check-in" for which I complained. The good thing that they at least apologized for the overcharge and redone the invoicing.
The view from the window is not astonishing;
The breakfast is of limited choice;
Have a good location!
3 stars at most

Good in parts

Travelled with 3 friends & wives.
First the good points
- Well located, quiet area and just 5 minutes from Amur Timur Square.
- The rooms are huge (18'-0"x30'-0")
- The breakfast is good & has a big variety to choose from.
- Staff is ever ready to help (started B'fast half hour early for us as we had to travel to Samarkand by 0800 train)
- Staff knows English (believe me it helps when majority of the restaurant people do not)
Bad points
- House keeping is horrible, 2" standing water in bathtub at check-in in one of the room toilets.
- Showers are broken, hanging at all angles.
- AC's not working in any room for 3 nights, did not go below 26.4*C. On complaining to the reception, house boy came and set it to 22*C but the temperature stayed at +26*C. Only when we complained to the manager (Indian origin) did the AC repairman come and clean the filter and we spent the last night comfortably.

The biggest room ever :)

If you are not used to royal appartments or regularly booking the whole floor of the hotel, this might be the biggest room you have ever stayed in. It also has all the needed equipment and everything is on the high level. Hotel also has well equiped fitness.
Bad things? If you are very picky you might realize that construction is a bit superficial (what else would you expect from Chinese owners??), service is not brilliant and that breakfast is extremely sweet, local or asian.

We've travelled to many cities around the world and stayed in all sorts of hotels and I have to say the Miran stands up well to the better hotels in Europe and the US.
Rooms are the biggest I've seen and throughout, the hotel has a high quality feel in decoration and atmosphere.
However as other reviewers have commented service here stands out and makes the difference; from the lady who came an hour and a half early to open the shop just for us to the staff who opened the restaurant for breakfast half an hour specially to accommodate our extra-early departure.
We'd definitely stay here when visiting Central Asia again.

Safe bet

Room is just huge and rather clean! This hotel is probably the only place, which accepts Mastercard in Tashkent. Staff was very helpful. You have to wait for taxis to arrive as reception first needs to call a taxi company and there are no taxis outside. In Uzbekistan everything is a bit "relaxed", so have some patience in Tashkent. Restaurant is almost always empty, but food is good, though very expensive. Breakfast has a big variety to choose from. There are many groups here and when they arrive you have to wait until elevators are available. Overall, this is a very nice hotel, nothing extra, but a safe bet.

Very Cosmetic

Stayed with My group of 24 booked 13 rooms but was very disappointed , I had requested double rooms but was allocated a twin room , called the reception desk and the gentleman was very helpful and changed my room after waiting for an hour to my disappointment the room was downgraded and all that had been done was place the beds together which could have been done with the previous room, the rooms were clean and very large & cosmetic but the beds are very uncomfortable , I slept on the floor as the mattress springs were worn out & the bed most uncomfortable .I called on the front desk early the morning and requested that a double bed room be given, they were very sorry and said that I will be given a room as soon as one is available , my friends also complained to me that they were given twin beds instead of double and their beds were very uncomfortable., I asked the reception to convey my complain to their manager & Director to inspect the rooms & try sleeping on them & I'm certain they will change all the mattresses , it is a pity as this is supposedly a business hotel with five star rating and it falls really short on comfort . The Breakfast is very good and the staff were friendly and most helpful.

Room to relax and stretch out

We stayed one night after a trip in from Kazakhstan. The rooms are enormous and provide plenty of room for a family of four to share a twin bed room. The restaurant was a bit slow on service but nothing unexpected given other travel in the region. Not much time to explore the rest of the hotel but the access to main streets by a quick walk can be had. I recommend this hotel for visitors and make sure you allocate enough time for missed orders and delays when eating lunch or dinner in the restaurant. The breakfast was quite nice and buffet style so no waiting required.

Good base in Tashkent

Stayed here twice as part of a group tour of Uzbekistan. The standard of rooms is very good and they are huge. The gas masks "in case of fire" are a slightly bizarre touch and they had difficulty serving an early breakfast for our group (ran out of coffee and suggested we pay for some!). All in all its a good standard and the staff welcoming with reasonable english.

The rooms are very large, and the furniture is comfortable and not at all tired or worn. Staff are very friendly and helpful, most with English skills. However, it is the first hotel I have stayed in that I could not be told the room rate because I had reserved through an agency and only they could know the price. This was easily resolved with a phone call, but interesting anyway. The breakfast had plentiful choices and was well-prepared, served in a nice dining room that has live jazz some nights. Also a lobby bar, 24 hour room service, sauna, pool, and exercise room were nice. We had one week on the top floor. Most rooms face the front, although there is only a city view. The location is on somewhat of a side street, but it is just off a main street, and therefore quiet at night. Restaurants are within a short walk, as are shops, spas, and a central park with two museums near. If you want a large room in a quiet place with very good service stay here. If you want nightclubs or more variety of lobby shops and restaurants, other places are near.

large rooms, friendly service and a restaurant with a lot to improve...

I stayed 3 nights on this hotel on my first visit to Uzbekistan.

And the experience was pleasant also regarding the hotel:

- overall cleanliness, despite in the room due to a very light color of the carpets there´s here and there some stains. But is not lack on maintenance or cleanliness;
- hotel amenities, spa, indoor pool, business center with computer connected to internet and is possible to print documents as well. Wi-Fi everywhere with a very decent speed, wide TVs in the rooms with international channels, ;
- staff are very, very friendly, smiling and helpfull;
- Location, you can walk around or to Amir Timur Museum. Is located in a neighborhood full of colleges, universities and schools.

- There´s a lack on soundproofing of the rooms, this is the only downside of my stay, but in fact i just notice on my last day, maybe because on the room next to mine the guest were chating and watching TV (Sochi winter games) until late. this is a problem, that is not easy to improve, that´s why I put on Negatives.

- English speakers, most of the team have a lack on english. At the reception most of the staff and a couple ladies in the restaurant speaking very well english, but the majority of the staff have a very basic english, sometimes really poor;
- Restaurant overall quality, they have a wide offer including international dishes, but despite the time waiting that are usually over half an hour to get the dish ordered, the quality (not the ingredients, those are very fresh), but how they are cooked, should be improved. Maybe some training to the chef. No matter how you order your steak it comes always too well done and dry. The best meals I had were pizzas and the desserts;

If I get back to Tashkent, is too possible I´ll choose this hotel again!

Nice big rooms, decent hotel in Center of Tashkent

Stayed here for a couple of nights before starting a tour.
Huge room (see pictures) Clean with good sized bathroom.
Cable Tv, coffe and tea and water in room, all the things you would expect.
Free use of the pool and sauna (plus massage available for a fee).
Large if disorganized breakfast buffet you just need to keep remindingthe staff if you have ordered something.
The bar is fairly well stocked and the service attentive.
Not a bad experience and I would stay there again
Note they only take local currency or "some" credit cards so be warned.

This hotel is conveniently located in the heart of city where travelling anywhere is no more than 10-15 mins drive.

PROS:Impressive lobby, big spacious rooms, Coffee Shop, Restaurant,Conference hall to hold 400 people,Business Centre, Friendly Staff,Average Food.

CONS: Only two elevators for the big hotel, which becomes a problem if a group checks in.
The so called FREE WiFi didn't work many times.
The bath/wash rooms are relatively big and has bathtub which can accommodate two, but lacks a overhead shower (which is so essential).
Over All: A good hotel to stay for business as well as leisure.
I advise you to choose the corner rooms, which have two large windows. It possible to have much sunlight and they're bigger.

Stayed 5 nights for a training event that also took place at the hotel conference facility.
Welcoming front desk staff (good english) and all over attentive staff. Since I arived on a Sunday the hotel bank was unable to change money for me but the bell boy gave me money to the bus fare (!) since I wanted to go to the Chorsu Bazar and told me to do my exchange there.
Hotel's rooms are very spacious. There is also free wifi, safety box, and etc. The bed is hard yet it possible to sleep on it.
Breakfast a bit drab but you will find things that you like. Fresh fruits also included!
The hotel is on a back street so taxi drivers might have difficulties finding it (trying to take you to the Intercontinental instead) this can be avoided by telling them to go to Amur Timur Park and then bringing a map (its easy to find: down Istikbol St, right after the traffic lights and then left).

Staff is helpful! The registration process was very fast.
The rooms are big. Shower itself is a separate room in the bathroom, where the toilet.
King size bed is very comfortable.
Restaurant's service is impeccable.
In case of early departure in the morning, we will prepare a giant bag for breakfast!
It is a pity that from the hotel to the store you have to walk pretty long.
