Description
Dmanisi is a peaceful glade in southern Georgia on which the oldest fossil remains in Eurasia were excavated in the 20th century. Georgia’s most famous archaeological site holds remnants from prehistoric to medieval eras and is the perfect starting point for a fuller understanding of the country’s rich history. Nearby Bolnisi, home to the country’s oldest surviving church and the earliest samples of Georgian script, is no less significant.
