Most e-visas will be issued within 5 working days after submitting your application. You should print the visa out and keep it for the duration of your stay in Georgia. You may use the online Georgia visa status check through the e-visa portal website to monitor your visa’s status.

What should I do to obtain a visa to Georgia if my country is not on any of the lists above?

If you have not found your country in any of the lists above, you are not eligible for an e-visa or visa-free entry, yet you still have a chance to visit Georgia by obtaining a paper visa through a Georgian embassy or consulate. Before applying, read through the Georgia visa checklist to be sure you have all of the necessary documents in order:

  1. Fully completed visa application form (you can download the form from the website)
  2. Travel document / passport
  3. Passport-size photo according to ICAO standards
  4. Receipt of payment of the consular fee
  5. Invitation letter (only if required by the embassy or consulate through which you’ll apply)
  6. A receipt confirming the payment of a fine must be presented if you have formerly overstayed your visa in Georgia or remained in its territory illegally
  7. To issue visas to minors (a person under the age of 18) and/or persons with mental disabilities, written consent from the individual’s legal guardian must also be submitted.
  8. If submitting papers for any other individual, a document evidencing the third party’s representative powers must also be presented to the embassy or consulate.

  2. It must contain at least two empty pages, unless you’re applying through the e-visa portal
  3. It should not be damaged
  4. It must have been issued within the past 10 years.

Please note that if your passport expires while you have a valid Georgian visa, you can apply to a Georgian embassy or consulate to get your current visa stamped into your new passport.

What if there is no Georgian embassy in my country?

If there is not a Georgian embassy in your country, you may apply through the closest Georgian embassy in a neighboring country. You can see the list of Georgian embassies and consulates here.

What if I want to extend my stay in Georgia?

If you have a diplomatic visa or are working in Georgia and wish to stay beyond the duration of your visa, you need to apply to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia. The decision will be made within seven days.
If your passport country is in the list of visa-free countries (see above), you will need to exit Georgia and re-enter at any land border or airport. This will prolong your stay for another year (please double-check the regulations regarding your specific country).
If you had to obtain a paper visa in order to enter Georgia, you must leave the country before the visa expires and re-apply for a new visa. The visa is extended by the same regulations with which it was granted.

How can I get a multiple-entry visa to Georgia?

Short-term e-visas for travel purposes are issued as multiple entry ones with validity period of 120 days and duration of stay of 30 days.
