Description
Uzbekistan Silk Road Tour – a journey in the footsteps of ancient caravans, through legendary cities and monuments that have now become UNESCO World Heritage sites. This itinerary is ideal for lovers of history, architecture, and Oriental culture. The Great Silk Road was the most extensive trade network in human history. Stretching for thousands of kilometers, it connected East and West, China and Europe, and the territory of modern-day Uzbekistan was its "golden heart".
The tour program begins in Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan. Here, you can see historical monuments from various eras, a massive bazaar, and get acquainted with modern landmarks of the 20th and 21st centuries. This is followed by an exploration of monumental Samarkand, which for centuries served as the capital of empires, attracting traders from all corners of the continent. In this great city, you will see colossal madrasahs and mosques, as well as richly decorated mausoleums.
The second half of the tour features Bukhara and Khiva, cities that have preserved their historical appearance and serve as open-air museums. Bukhara will amaze you with its labyrinths of Oriental quarters, elegant architecture, and colorful trading domes where commerce hasn't ceased for a thousand years. Khiva is a fortress standing against the passage of time, where everything inside looks just as it did hundreds of years ago.
Uzbekistan Silk Road Tour offers a chance to see not only ancient monuments but also the living traditions of craftsmen, bustling bazaars, and hospitality preserved through the centuries.
Tour Highlights:
- Immersion into the history of the legendary trade route and ancient civilizations;
